ENG: I get lots of comments about my nails and questions like 'are they gel or acryllic?' Well actually, they're neither! I do my nails myself :) I love being creative and it saves me a lot of money. I am not a professional and I've simply found my own easy way of applying false nails. I believe everybody can do this, as long as you work with clean materials.

The most important thing is to ALWAYS work clean. I've had a very unfortunate experience because one nail was not disinfected before applying it, and it left me with a major inflammation  on my natural nail.
The nails I have been using currently are the French nails from Primark. I have had expensive, professional nails before, but I prefer these because they last just as long.

Cleaning the nails
First I lay out my nails to see which one fits best on my natural nails. After I've found 10 matching nails, I clean them with an anti-bacterial wipe or spray. Then I buff /file my own nails to make sure all glue and dirt has come off. It also makes the surface rough which makes then nails adhese better.  Then I clean my nails with anti-bacterial stuff as well and make sure everything is dry. Any moisture between the natural nail and false nail can cause infection and fungus.

Applying the false nails
Some people prefer to add the glue to the false nail and then put it on your natural nail. I prefer to put the glue on my natural nail and then press on the false nail because it spills less glue (glue on your skin is very annoying haha). Place the fake nail just above cuticle (keep it straight) and then press down onto nail bed. Keep pressure applied for 10 seconds to ensure no air bubbles are present.  This step is really important because if the fake nail is not secure to the nail bed, moisture will get in underneath and cause lifting or nail fungus.

I always file the edge of where the fake nail starts, so it blends in with my natural nail. Then I file the white part off, I don't like that;)
Almost done after the filing step! I simply add a basecoat, a nailpolish and a topcoat. I've mixed my clear Essence gel polish with a regular nailpolish to get a big of a sheer color, but still that gel look.

The nails stay on for about 2-3 weeks, which is pretty long! This takes me about 30 minutes to do, so that's very quick. I have been doing my nails like this, with the Primark nails, for about 3 months. It's very easy, very cheap and it looks quite professional I would say. Everyone can do this! I hope this tutorial is helpful for you if you were wondering how I do my nails of if you want to do it yourself.

NL: Ik krijg vaak de vraag of ik gel of acryl nagels heb... Nou, dat heb ik allebei niet!;) Ik doe mijn nagels altijd zelf, maar het zijn 'plak' nagels. Ik heb een makkelijke en goedkope manier gevonden om mijn nagels te doen. Iedereen kan het, maar het is wel belangrijk dat je echt professioneel schóon werkt. Ik heb een keer per ongeluk een niet zo schone nagel opgeplakt, waardoor ik een pijnlijke onsteking van mijn eigen nagel kreeg.  Sinds een paar maanden draag ik de French nails van Primark. Ik heb professionele nagelsets gehad, maar deze gaan net zo lang mee en ik hoef bijna niets meer aan de lengte en vorm te doen. Ideaal!

Nagels schoonmaken
Eerst leg ik de nagels voor me uit zodat ik er 10 uit kan zoeken die precies op mij eigen nagel passen. Het allerbelangrijkst is om met schone nagels en nepnagels te werken. Ik gebruik altijd een anti bacteriële spray of doekjes om de nagels mee schoon te maken.

De nagels aanbrengen
Sommige mensen brengen liever eerst lijm aan op de nepnagel om deze vervolgens op de eigen nagel te schuiven. Ik doe het liever andersom, omdat ik daarmee minder snel lijm knoei. Nagellijm op je huid is echt vreselijk irritant! Het is trouwens geen seconde lijm, maar 0,21589 seconden, het zit echt binnen no time muurvast, dus pas er mee op! Ik breng de lijm op mijn eigen nagel aan en dan schuif ik de nepnagel als het ware over mijn eigen nagel. Daarna druk ik 10 seconden de nagel aan, en let daarbij op dat er geen luchtbelletjes onder zitten. Lucht of vocht onder je nagel kan ervoor zorgen dat de nagel snel loslaat en dat je schimmel of een ontsteking aan je eigen nagel kan krijgen.

Het eerste wat ik doe als je nepnagels erop zitten is het gladvijlen van de 'aanzet' van de nagels, zodat ze helemaal overlopen met mijn eigen nagels. Vervolgens vijl ik het witte randje eraf, daar houd ik niet zo van;) Ik vijl de randjes een beetje bij, lak de nagels met een basecoat en lak ze vervolgens zoals normaal. Ik heb een gewone nagellak gemengd met mijn Essence gellak zodat er een doorzichtige roze lak ontstond die de glans van een gellak heeft.

De nagels blijven bij mij zo'n 2-3 weken zitten, wat behoorlijk lang is! Daarnaast is dit supersnel om te doen, binnen 30 minuten ben ik klaar met mijn nagels. Het is goedkoop, super makkelijk en ze ogen behoorlijk professioneel. Hopelijk vonden jullie dit een fijne tutorial; mocht je dit zelf willen doen of gewoon benieuwd zijn hoe ik mijn nagels doe;)

ENG:  I often get questions on instagram or in my mail from girls who'd like to know what beauty products I use or if I have tips for them. I've realized that I gave these girls great tips but I haven't shared them on my blog before! Shame on me, so today I'd like to share two products I use to take my  make up off and clean my face. The best about these products? They're totally organic!

I've been chancing the way I eat lately; I try to eat as much organic and unprocessed foods as I can and I feel great now. There's just too much rubbish in certain foods (like everything pre-packed or pre-cooked) that contains preservatives, sugars, added colors and added flavors. Your body doens't need all that! But how about or skin or our hair? I never used to read labels when it came to beauty products, but did you know that stuff like hair masks or facial wipes contain added colors, fragrances and chemicals too? And also, alcohol, which dries out our hair and skin. Is your hair dry? Put someting organic like olive oil or coconut oil in it for an hour, rinse well and let it dry to the air. Speaking about oil, let me tell you what I do with coconut oil.

Coconut oil
A lot of us girls use drugstore products to take our make up off. We all know that burning feeling some products have on your skin when cleaning your face with something like facial wipes. Those products that smell very strong and sting on your skin can be agressive because they contain alcohol. Why not use something all natural that nourishes your skin and has a great smell from its own? I add some pure coconut oil on a cotton pad and wipe my make up off with it. My heavy eye make up came off instantly! I used to remove the access makeup and oils with a toner, that would often leave my skin red and burning. Wanna know what I replaced those toners with?

Lemon juice
That's right, good old lemon juice. I simply put some water on a cotton pad, add a few drops of lemon juice and swipe across my face with it. It smells super fresh and it leaves my skin feeling moisturized and 100% clean. It also makes my skin matte.  What's great about these products is that you can buy them anywhere, they're natural and good for the skin... It's suitable for every skin type because there are no aggressive products in these. Just 100% coconut oil and 100% lemon juice.  What do you think about my tips?

NL: Ik krijg best vaak vragen op Instagram of in mijn mail over wat voor beauty producten ik gebruik en of ik tips heb voor bepaalde huid problemen. Niet iedereen is gezegend met een supergladde huid, dus wij meiden grijpen dan al snel naar producten die je gewoon bij de drogist kan halen. Ik heb echter heel wat tips gegeven hoe het anders kan, maar deze heb ik nog helemaal niet op mijn blog gedeeld! Vandaag laat ik jullie zien hoe je op een 100% organic manier je make up kan verwijderen.

De laatste tijd ben ik veel gezonder gaan eten. Ik vermijd zo veel mogelijk 'bewerkt' eten waar toegevoegde suikers, kleur en smaak stoffen en conserveermiddelen in zitten. Dat heeft je lijf namelijk helemaal niet nodig! Maar wist je dat er in de meeste beauty producten ook conserveermiddelen, geur en kleurstoffen en vooral: alcohol zit? Die laatste droogt je haar en huid alleen maar uit. Stel nou dat je droog haar hebt, dan koop je al snel een haarmasker, wat vaak vol chemische middelen zit. Je kunt ook gewoon olijfolie of kokos olie in je haar doen; dit een uur laten intrekken en goed uitspoelen. Nu we het toch over kokosolie hebben, lees snel verder wat ik hiermee doet voor mijn make up.

Kokosolie
De kans is heel groot dat jij gezichtsdoekjes of producten van de drogist gebruikt om je make up eraf te halen. Waarschijnlijk ken je ook wel dat branderige gevoel wat je van sommige producten krijgt. Dat komt omdat het merendeel van dit soort producten chemische stoffen en alcohol bevatten. Waarom zou je niet iets gebruiken wat 100% natuurlijk is en van zichzelf al heerlijk ruikt? Ik gebruik tegenwoordig pure kokosolie (pot van de AH) op een wattenschijfje en ga daarmee over mijn gezicht. Zelfs de zwaarste ook make up gaat er makkelijk mee af! Daarna gebruikte ik altijd een toner om alle restjes make up en olie eraf te halen. Daar heb ik natuurlijk ook een verantwoorde vervanger voor gevonden.

Citroensap
Ik gebruik wat druppels citroensap uit een flesje op een nat wattenschijfje om alle makeup en olie helemaal eraf te krijgen. Mijn gezicht voelt er lekker fris en gehydrateerd door en het ziet er meteen helemaal matte uit. Het beste van deze producten is dat je ze overal kunt kopen en het voor alle huidtypes geschikt is. Er zit namelijk geen troep in waar je huid geïrriteerd van zal raken.Wat vinden jullie van deze tips? :)

ENG: whereas lots of bloggers have been seen with comfy shoes like slip-ons and loafers, I'm going for a slightly different version: boat shoes! I absolutely love boat shoes and I think they're still a bit underestimated. Who says boat shoes are only for on deck? De schoenen die ik heb zijn helemaal navy blauw met schattige kwastjes. Zowel de binnen als buitenkant is helemaal leer en daardoor lopen ze als slofjes!

ENG: When it comes to accesorizing, I've been very into the combination of white and gold lately. Ever since I've had this watch (which you can find all over Ebay) I've been combining white and gold a lot, because I think it's a chic combo. I love the plain white; it goes with everything and it's a fresh spring color. Gold can become too much pretty easily, but in my opinion it's classy when combined with a color like white. As for the nails, I went for a matte white OPI nail polish.

NL: Als het op accessoires aankomt, is de combinatie wit met goud mijn favoriet de laatste tijd. Het begon toen ik dit horloge kocht (gewoon een van Ebay). Ik vind dat spierwit met goud wel classy. Soms kan het met veel goud en bling snel iets too much worden, daarom ging ik voor simpele sieraden. Mijn nagels heb ik wit gelakt met een matte OPI nagellak.

I've got a cute  Bubble bracelet which has got all the colors of the rainbow:) These types of bracelets are my favorite 'casual' bracelets because of the way they close... It's very handy; they can never be too small or too big because you can simply adjust them in size.  As I love everything spikey or studded, these spikey earrings are great. 

As for the rings, I am absolutely in love with them! I have a major rings obsessions, especially the above the knuckle onces. I've got this arrow ring which should be an above-the-knuckle ring but it's a bit too big so I wear it like a normal ring. This adorable cat ring is also an above-the-knuckle ring but I wear it like a normal ring because it's a bit too big for that as well. Last but certainly not least: I've got this big, chunky above the knuckle ring that does fit perfectly:D I love this one!

NL: Zoals jullie weten ben ik een enorme sieraden fan, vooral als het nét wat andere sieraden zijn. De webshop Ohsohip.nl verkoopt precies het soort sieraden waar ik van houd! Ik weet zeker dat jullie het ook een te gekke webshop vinden; je vindt er namelijk allerlei uber hippe sieraden zoals ringen, kettingen, armbanden en oorbellen. Echt helemaal Oh So Hip!

Ik heb een schattige Bubble armband die alle kleurtjes van de regenboog heeft:) Dit soort armbandjes zijn mijn favo 'casual' armbandjes. Ze zijn super fijn omdat ze nooit te groot of te klein kunnen zijn, je kan met de touwtjes bepalen hoe strak 'ie moet zitten. Deze  arrow ring is eigenlijk een above-the-knuckle ring maar hij is wat aan de grote kant daarvoor. Dus draag ik 'm mooi als normale ring! Hetzelfe geldt voor de cat ring, maar dat maakt ze niet minder leuk;) Mijn favo ring is zeker weten de chunky above the knuckle ring, die overigens wel perfect past. Wat houd ik toch van ringen!

The big spacious stores definitely impressed me, it is so breathtaking and the employees are helpful and very well  mannered. Of course, I loved the fashion department the most♥

Whether it's the ever-classic Le Pliage or a sporty new take on the Gatsby, the bags are right there at Harrods. Another one of my favorites is Stella McCartney, I love her style of sharp tailoring and feminine items. Michael Kors, gosh, I love this brand. The watches are every fashionista's dream and those bags are so elegant, the Selma satchel has been on my wishlist for a while now. Ik houd er van om te expirimenteren met nail art en stickers etc op mijn nepnagels. Ik koop ze altijd bij een zaakje bij mij in de buurt, maar toen ik deze roze metallic tips op Ebay zag, besloot ik ze gewoon te proberen! Ze passen niet zo perfect als mijn normale nepnagels, maar toch, het effect is super! Ik ken geen nagellak die hetzelfde effect heeft als  deze nagels. Celebrity Style: Cara Delevingne

I think we all know Cara Delevingne as the face of Burberry and the younger sister of it-girl and Chanel ambassador Poppy Delevingne. I often see pictures of Cara on weheartit and her style is an inspiration to me. Of course she often wears Burberry for shows, but I especially like her 'model off duty' style. She obviously likes funny T-shirts, beanies and making a statement with her outfit.

What I really love about her is that she seems to just throw on a pair of jeans, a comedy T-shirt and boyish beanie hat, and she still looks so stylish! Some of the key items we see in her outfits a lot are definitely the platform Burberry boots, leather jackets and printed tee's. I love her hair and make up, which varies from plain hair and make up combined with a beanie, or super glamorous and voluminous hair with smokey eyes and red lips.

Volgens mij kennen we Cara Delevingne allemaal wel als het gezicht van Burberry en als het jongere zusje van it girl Poppy  Delevingne. Ik zie vaak foto's van Cara voorbij komen op weheartit en haar stijl inspireert me altijd enorm. Ze draagt vaak kleding van Burberry tijdens shows, maar wat ik vooral zo leuk vind is haar 'vrije tijd' kleding. Het lijkt er vaak op dat ze gewoon een jeans uit de kast trekt met een grappig t-shirt en beanie, en het geheel staat haar super stylish! My magazine debut; I'm in this weeks' Dutch Grazia! About 2 months ago, I spotted a tweet on Twitter from the Grazia: they were looking for girls/women with a huge love for make up. True make up addicts who were willing to do a make under. Three girls (including me) were chosen to do this challenge! From all over the top make up to barely any make up left: here's the scan of my make under.

One thing that imidiately caught my eye was that they got my name wrong! For such a big magazine as Grazia that's a pretty stupid mistake. The 'before' picture was taken from my blog (the one from the shoot wasn't used obviously) and since my name is also visible on my blog, they should have just gotten it right. Nevertheless, I think it's awesome that I'm in this magazine and the reactions I got so far were really nice.

Personally, it feels really strange seeing myself that natural, it's like that's not even me. It felt uncomfortable, and I was worried it would show in the pictures. Given the circumstances that I had very teary eyes from the make up remover and it was sooo cold on set; I think the picture turned out okay. It was a fun experience and it was good to see myself in a natural look. As I said in the interview: my motto is more is more, and I'm gonna stick with that. To me it doesn't matter if one wears a lot of make up or no make up at all; do what makes you most comfortable. For me, that's wearing make up!

I'd translate the article into English for my foreign readers, If I'd have the time, which I don't :( I am so so stressed and worried about deadlines and school projects so I'm gonna make this a short post and get back to my homework! Mijn tijdschriften debut! Ik sta deze week in de Grazia !(nr. 21) Ongeveer 2 maanden geleden las ik een tweet van de Grazia dat zij op zoek waren naar vrouwen die in de make up zaten en een make under wilden ondergaan. Dat leek me wel wat! Ik werd met 2 anderen uitgekozen voor de make under: van een opgedofte make up look naar au naturel, zie hieronder de scan van mijn make under! 

Jammer dat ze mijn naam verkeerd hebben, dat is niet zo professioneel van een groot tijdschrift als Grazia. Ook worden mijn quotes aardig overdreven...Maar dat mag de pret niet drukken; ik vind het heel gaaf dat ik in de Grazia sta en ik vond de make under een erg leuke ervaring! Ik ben benieuwd wat jullie van mijn make under vinden :D
